Plans are underway to open the first US Primark stores in Boston, Massachusetts. The Retail Bulletin reported that Primark has signed a lease for 70,000 sq ft of selling space in the city’s Burnham Building, which was previously home to the famous Filene’s Department Store.
Following these store openings, negotiations are under way to open further stores in the north east through to the middle of 2016. These new US stores will be supported by warehousing in the region.
Primark said it had decided to take its discount fashion offering to the US after “extensive research”.
